The women of various parts of rural Sindh, work on hand embroidered garments, particularly that on a female’s blouse. The motifs and symbols stitched meticulously by the female, also throws light onto the individual and group identities of their communities.
An exhibition titled Gaj: The Colours of the Rainbow is currently on display in the Mohatta Palace Museum, exhibited in which 60 objects of the female’s hand embroidered garments, some over a century old are on display, from all over Pakistan.
